This charger works great but has an annoying blue light that is distracting at during night driving
A must own at a great price. I knew the micro USB would work, but I already tried using car chargers with micro USB that did NOT work. I couldn't find a cheaper (read: not from T-Mobile) car charger for my Motorola Cliq that stated it explicitly worked with my phone. I took a gamble and bought two of these, one for me and one for my wife, and they work great. Thankfully this works great and quickly on the Cliq.
Second, I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't actually charge the phone, just keep it powered - but to be fair, this is probably either my Droid or the car, not the fault of the charger itself.I haven't had a chance to try charging any other MicroUSB devices with my charger, but I can only assume it works swimmingly. I would definitely recommend this over anything overpriced Verizon is offering you for your Droid. Not only does the end of the charger seem to only take up space and shamelessly promote Motorola, the blue LED creates a bit of a distraction, at least where my cigarette lighter is in my vehicle. This, my Droid, and the Car Dock make a very happy trio for navigation in my car.However, there are a few minor concerns I'd like to point out: First, the blue LED. Plenty just don't work right. I've been bitten many times before buying 3rd party wall and car chargers, usually on the cheap and almost never legit. But I was very happy to find when I bought my Motorola Droid that there was a real Motorola car charger available for cheap on Amazon, so I was sold. I'm thinking of taking it apart and removing the LED, but I don't travel at night too much with it so I might let it slide.
The light helps locate and identify it in the dark. I've had it a few months with no problems. The coil puts pressure on the connection onto the phone. Works well with my droid. Product is as advertised. The only drawback is that the cord is a bit short when I use it to plug into the phone resting on a dash mount bean bag.
It charges the phone quickly and works the way it is supposed to. Charger has a cool blue glow when it is plugged in. I'm very happy with my purchase.
